Job Description

Crane Operator

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to operate various types of cranes to lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment at construction or industrial sites. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of crane operations, safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials according to project requirements.
  • Perform daily safety and operational inspections on crane equipment.
  • Ensure safe lifting practices and compliance with site safety regulations.
  • Signal or communicate with riggers and other team members to ensure safe movements.
  • Maintain accurate records of crane operations and log maintenance checks.
  • Load and unload equipment and materials using appropriate attachments or rigging.
  • Monitor crane operations for mechanical issues and report any malfunctions.
  • Follow site plans, blueprints, or instructions from supervisors for lifting tasks.
  • Assist with site setup and equipment mobilization as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid crane operator certification/license.
  • Strong knowledge of crane load charts, rigging, and lifting procedures.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA or local safety standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and mechanical crane systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in all weather conditions.
