This Data Engineering internship is for a qualified college student to work on our Navy future tactical systems architecture program during the Summer of 2026. The intern will work with limited supervision to develop a distributed storage solution for submarine tactical systems.
This position is located in Manassas, VA. This position is onsite.
What will you do?The selected candidate will work individually or with small teams to develop a distributed storage solution for a submarine tactical system using open-source technology. The solution will be developed to function in a computing cluster with federated storage instances and a variety of hardware. Data being managed will be large in volume with a variety of structures at different levels of complexity and must be simple to query. Development efforts will span a broad spectrum of computer technologies, including server, VM and container management, cybersecurity, data management, and networks.
