We are seeking a Driver & Food Service Aide to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.

About the Role:

The Driver & Food Service Aide plays a vital role in supporting health care services by ensuring timely and safe transportation of meals and supplies to various health care facilities and members. This position combines driving responsibilities with food service duties, contributing to the overall well-being and satisfaction of members and staff. The role requires adherence to strict safety and hygiene standards to maintain the quality and safety of food during transport and delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with health care teams to coordinate delivery schedules and respond to any immediate needs related to food service. Ultimately, this role ensures that nutritional support is efficiently and reliably provided, enhancing member care and operational effectiveness within the health care environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
• Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food service or delivery within a health care setting.
• Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).
• Familiarity with local traffic laws and routes in the service area.
• Ability to operate GPS and other navigation tools efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate company vehicles to deliver meals, supplies, and equipment to designated health care facilities and member locations according to scheduled routes.
• Assist in the preparation, packaging, and distribution of food items, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of vehicles and food service equipment to meet health department standards.
• Communicate effectively with health care staff and supervisors to coordinate delivery times and address any special requirements or issues.
• Document delivery activities, including mileage, delivery times, and any incidents, and report them promptly to management.
