Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and business‑savvy Sushi Chef to join our corporate dining team. This role requires a culinary expert with strong sushi experience who can also contribute to the operational and financial success of the kitchen. The ideal candidate will balance creativity and precision with a solid understanding of food cost management, purchasing, and labor efficiency in a high‑volume, professional environment. This position is part of the Flik Hospitality Ace Team. As a member of the Ace Team you will be responsible for supporting and/or managing Flik accounts. Based in New York City, you will mainly support units in the Tri‑State region and may be assigned to support non‑local Flik locations requiring up to 25% travel. Ace schedules vary each week based on business needs. The majority of assignments fall between Monday through Friday with periodic evening, weekend, and holiday assignments given with advance notice. Salary $75,000 – $85,000 / year Key Responsibilities Culinary Execution Prepare high‑quality sushi, sashimi, and specialty rolls in accordance with company standards Ensure consistency, presentation, and food safety compliance at all times Develop and rotate menus that align with seasonal availability and client preferences Maintain freshness and proper handling of all seafood and ingredients Operations & Management Oversee daily sushi bar operations within a corporate dining setting Assist in scheduling and supervising kitchen staff as needed Maintain clean, organized, and efficient workstations Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and company policies Financial & Business Responsibilities Manage food costs through portion control, yield management, and waste reduction Monitor and control labor costs in coordination with leadership Analyze sales trends and adjust production accordingly Contribute to budgeting and financial reporting as needed Purchasing & Inventory Source and order high‑quality seafood and ingredients from approved vendors Maintain proper inventory levels and conduct regular inventories Build strong vendor relationships while ensuring cost efficiency Track pricing and adjust ordering strategies to maintain margins Qualifications 3+ years of professional sushi chef experience (high‑volume or corporate dining preferred) Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and seafood handling Experience with kitchen operations, including scheduling and workflow management Demonstrated understanding of food and labor cost control Familiarity with purchasing, inventory management, and vendor coordination Ability to read and interpret financial reports or P&L statements is a plus NYC Food Handlers and mandatory mandatory cast compulsory .
