Job Summary We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented development professional interested in event and volunteer management to join our dynamic team. The Fundraising & Events Coordinator will help us reach organizational fundraising goals through a focus on executing impactful and engaging events that serve as crucial touch points with supporters and the community. This position will report to the Director of Development and work closely with the development team and the Auxiliary Board. City: Chicago Youth Centers (CYC) Headquarters located at 218 S Wabash Ave, Suite 510. Key Responsibilities Event Management Manage event logistics and secure donations, driving fundraising results. Coordinate with vendors, venue and in‑kind food and alcohol donors. Manage event mailings (invitations, sponsorship packets, donation requests). Oversee team outreach to prospective event sponsors. Coordinate with sponsors about their pledges, benefits and guest information. Work with the team to coordinate layout, décor and run of show. Order relevant supplies, track expenses, revenue and budget vs. goal. Lead the team and Auxiliary Board in securing in‑kind donations (sponsorships, auction, food and beverage items). Support a handful of micro donor cultivation events throughout the year. Manage event‑related software used for ticket purchases, attendee management, mobile auction bidding, paddle raises, peer‑to‑peer fundraising, etc. Keep abreast of event software enhancements and communicate them regularly. Pull activity reports from event software and report progress to goal and event analysis. Donor Management Enter and receipt event‑related gifts accurately and timely. Pull reports on event donors and donations. Coordinate with team to ensure all event pledges entered in donor database and fulfilled. Coordinate with team in thanking, stewarding and cultivating donors with a personalized and strategic approach. Volunteer Management Recruit, train and manage event volunteers at CYC’s annual fundraising events (Believe in Kids Dinner and Shake & Stir). Support recruitment and management of volunteers at occasional smaller events throughout the year (corporate and Board volunteer events at CYC Centers, micro fundraising events, etc.). Manage CYC’s diverse, dynamic, and creative group of 35‑40 passionate, young‑to‑mid‑career professionals that comprise our Auxiliary Board. Work closely with the Auxiliary Board Co‑Chairs and Executive Committee to support their structure and initiatives (Shake & Stir, micro‑events, third‑party fundraisers, happy hours, recruitment events, volunteer events, and special projects). Growth Mindset: willingness to learn, active role in professional development, eagerness to broaden knowledge of nonprofit fundraising. Requirements Associate degree or relevant certification required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree and 1‑2 years of relevant experience, or a minimum of 2‑3 years of professional experience in a relevant field (e.g., fundraising, non‑profits, administration, volunteer management or event management role). Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to occasionally work outside of normal business hours as needed. Comfortable with a hybrid work environment that is remote, in‑office, and in‑community. Strong attention to detail, ability to drive teams and volunteers on multiple projects and complete tasks timely. Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, self‑motivated, team‑player, organized, goal oriented. Knowledgeable in the use of Word, Excel, and other office software and/or web‑based applications. Able to learn and master other computer technology/software programs as needed. Able to process, protect and exercise discretion in handling confidential information and materials. Experience with Raiser's Edge, OneCause or other event management or donor database software is a competitive advantage. Commitment to the mission and philosophy of Chicago Youth Centers.
