Job Overview Works under the supervision of a Deputy Labor Commissioner Supervisor or designee to conduct intake investigations and less complex assignments related to settlement conferences or inspections. Coordinates intake workshops or clinics to ensure worker claims are complete, performs referrals to other units, educates the public on labor laws, and applies legal theory to assess violations against employers in wage claim processing. Additionally enforces wage and hour laws in the WCA program. Responsibilities Conduct intake investigations and less complex assignments for settlement conferences or inspections. Coordinate intake workshops or clinics to verify completeness of worker claims. Perform referrals to other units and educate the public on labor laws. Apply theories to assess employer violations in wage claim processing. Perform a variety of enforcement duties related to wage and hour laws. Qualifications Must be bilingual in Spanish. Working Conditions Position located at 7575 Metropolitan Drive, Room 210, San Diego, CA 92108. High‑volume fast‑paced office that handles wage claims and constantly interfaces with the public.
