Are you passionate about healthcare technology and eager to gain hands-on experience? Bone & Joint in Wausau, Wisconsin is looking for a motivated intern to join our IT team this summer!

This onsite role is a key part of our long‑term workforce strategy. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR INTERN
  • Start with a team meeting to discuss ongoing projects and daily tasks.
  • Assist in installing and configuring PC, server, and network hardware.
  • Support the IT team in monitoring and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Document technology configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, resolving computer and network-related issues.
  • Collaborate with team members on upgrades and optimization projects.
  • Engage with experienced IT professionals.
  • Review the day's accomplishments and prepare for the next day's tasks.
Throughout the day, you'll have opportunities to learn, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop your skills in a supportive environment. It's a great way to kickstart your IT career!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR INTERN
  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in IT, System Engineering, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Skills : Familiarity with technology hardware (servers, routers, switches, firewalls) and associated software, Windows operating systems, and hardware virtualization technologies.
  • Attributes : Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
WORK SCHEDULE
As a summer IT Systems Administrator Intern at Bone & Joint, your work schedule will typically be 30-35 hours per week during regular business hours for roughly 12 weeks. This usually means working Monday through Friday, from around 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. However, specific hours will vary depending on needs and any special projects or tasks that arise. You will need reliable transportation with the ability to travel to remote sites on occasion.
