Draw blood samples from patients, ensuring safety and accuracy in accordance with established procedures.
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, maintaining proper labeling and documentation.
Explain procedures to patients at various age levels, creating a comfortable and trusting environment.
Maintain detailed records of collections and handoffs, adhering to confidentiality standards.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors by focusing on process excellence and professionalism at all times.
Create a safe, organized, and professional environment for patients and staff.
Support laboratory operations by performing specimen processing as needed.
Ensure all activities are performed accurately and on time, following established practices and procedures.
Maintain a positive image and promote a welcoming atmosphere for patients and staff.
Required Skills
Proficiency in phlebotomy, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Ability to provide error-free, quality work in a fast-paced setting.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Phlebotomy certification preferred; certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; more than one year preferred.
Medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
Experience working with pediatric patients an advantage.
