Job Title: Patient Registrar Job Type: Contract Pay: $18–$23 (hourly) Job Summary: The Patient Registrar will be responsible for greeting patients, verifying insurance, collecting patient information, and ensuring accurate and efficient registration. This role plays a vital part in the patient care journey by serving as the first point of contact and ensuring all necessary administrative tasks are completed accurately and with empathy. Key Responsibilities: Welcome and register patients in a professional and courteous manner. Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information. Input patient data into electronic medical records (EMR) systems accurately. Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments as needed. Communicate with healthcare staff to coordinate patient flow and appointment logistics. Collect copayments and provide receipts; balance daily cash intake. Respond to inquiries from patients and families regarding services, billing, and insurance. Ensure all required forms and signatures are obtained prior to appointments or admissions. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA. Provide exceptional customer service and resolve concerns in a timely manner. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (required). Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare administrative or customer service role (preferred). Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification processes. Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to remain calm and compassionate in high-pressure situations.
