Position: Physical Security Specialist Location: Wichita, KS Job Id: 4285 # of Openings: 1 Position Opening: Physical Security Specialist Department: Risk & Compliance Location: Wichita, Kansas Salary: FT Salary The Physical Security Specialist is primarily responsible for the support and implementation of the Bank’s physical security program. In this role you’ll ensure the safety and security of our customers, employees, and physical assets. The Physical Security Specialist will be responsible for analyzing data, configuring security system settings and access by employees and vendors. The PSS will assist the Physical Security Manager with the delivery of appropriate security training to all bank staff, and with establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures that will ensure the protection of company assets, including employees, visitors and property. The PSS serves as a key operational resource for the Physical Security Department in executing the bank’s comprehensive security strategy. Responsibilities and Expectations Security Program Protocol Support the bank’s physical security program ensuring compliance with the Bank Protection Act and other relevant laws and regulations. Adhere to and provide feedback on relevant security policies, programs, procedures and guidelines. Track security-related expenses and assist the Physical Security Manager in identifying cost-effective solutions and vendor options. Support regional security liaison team to ensure compliance with bank security policies, protocols, and procedures. Monitor internal processes for bank employees regarding physical security concerns and incidents. Coordinate and conduct on-site security assessments and consultations with or at the direction of the Physical Security Manager at bank locations and provide tailored recommendations and solutions. Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when responding to emergencies and alarms. Evaluate and provide recommendations for improvements to security training, security systems and equipment, including implementation of new technology. Assist with periodic training for all employees required under the Bank Protection Act. Coordinate with vendors for security equipment installation, repairs, and upgrades. Maintain accurate records of all security technology configurations, maintenance, and testing. Assist with comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential security threats and to help develop mitigation strategies. Access physical security systems for system maintenance, configurations, and user access provisioning. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor Employee is responsible for understanding and following the applicable laws and regulations for their job responsibilities including but not limited to Equity Bank Business Ethic and Conduct Policy, Bank Secrecy Act, Information Security, and Suspicious Activity reporting requirements. Required Qualifications and Skills Strong leadership skills to help foster the security process, instilling discipline and ensuring adherence to security protocols and procedures. Ability to understand and implement comprehensive security strategies and programs. Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills to respond effectively to emergency situations and security incidents. Experience with various security technologies, including surveillance systems, alarms, access control systems, and security software. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously. Understanding of risk management and ability to conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Experience in providing training and conducting security drills to prepare employees for potential security threats. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to bank locations as needed. Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in physical security, loss prevention, or asset protection department, law enforcement, or a related field, preferably in a financial institution. In-depth knowledge of physical security principles, practices, and technologies. Knowledge of state and federal security regulations.
