Senior Associate Attorney

Established 30+ Years Premier Firm Seeking Senior Associate / Counsel-Track Trial Attorney for Litigation in Houston, TX

 

An established firm based in Houston with over 30 years in practice is seeking a Senior Associate / Counsel-Track Trial Attorney with 5+ years of post-JD litigation experience to join their team onsite. This attorney will have extensive experience in product liability defense, personal injury/wrongful death defense, and other high-exposure litigation, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations while representing clients in trial-active matters.

Salary range: $175,000-$225,000, contingent on experience

Qualifications:
The candidate must be licensed with the Texas Bar. They should have 5-10+ years of litigation experience, preferably in Texas courts, and a proven track record of courtroom exposure including second chair or better in jury trials, first chair in bench trials or arbitrations, and active participation in voir dire, openings, closings, and witness examinations. They must demonstrate confidence in handling dispositive motions, expert challenges, and contentious hearings. Strong legal writing skills focused on trial strategy are essential. Judicial clerkship experience is a plus but not required.

 

Responsibilities:
The attorney will independently manage high-exposure cases from inception through trial. They will lead and defend dozens of fact and expert depositions, prepare and participate in mediations, and interact directly with clients, insurers, and risk managers. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, managing discovery strategy, coordinating expert witnesses, and preparing trial themes. They will argue motions, handle pretrial hearings, and contribute to trial strategy, ensuring cases are trial-ready.
