What You’ll Do

• Prospect, onboard, and cultivate carrier relationships across FTL, LTL, and specialty freight lanes
• Negotiate competitive rates and secure capacity for active and upcoming shipper needs
• Build and maintain a reliable carrier book with a focus on consistent service performance
• Analyze market conditions and lane-level capacity trends to proactively solve coverage gaps
• Collaborate with our sales team to align carrier sourcing with specific client requirements
• Monitor carrier performance metrics — on-time delivery, check calls, compliance — and hold partners accountable
• Leverage our TMS (Turvo) to manage loads, track shipments, and maintain accurate records
• Verify carrier compliance: insurance, authority, safety ratings, and DOT/FMCSA requirements

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or truckload capacity — you know the industry cold
• A proven carrier relationship builder who can pick up the phone, earn trust, and get trucks moving
• Strong negotiator with experience balancing rate competitiveness against service quality
• Self-starter who can identify and source capacity independently, not just work a lead list
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, small-team environment where you own your outcomes
• Working knowledge of TMS platforms (Turvo, TAI, or similar)
• Solid understanding of freight modes, BOLs, PODs, and carrier compliance requirements
• Strong communicator — responsive, direct, and professional with carriers and colleagues alike
