Job Description

The Benefits Manager oversees employee health, welfare, and wellbeing programs, ensuring effective administration, strong vendor support, and a consistent employee experience. This role supports cross‑functional initiatives, helps manage compliance and operational risk, and aligns benefits programs with business needs.

Responsibilities:

Compliance:

  • Lead the implementation of changes affecting health/welfare programs.
  • Manage compliance reporting and required filings.
  • Maintain strong compliance controls, accurate documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate and lead responses to audits as needed.

Wellbeing and Leave:

  • Provide oversight of employee welfare, leave, and wellbeing programs to ensure effective and compliant delivery.
  • Lead program implementations and enhancements, coordinating vendors and supporting smooth operational integration.
  • Monitor performance, utilization, and service outcomes to inform improvements and recommendations.

Vendor Management:

  • Serve as the point of contact for benefits‑related vendors and partners.
  • Monitor service performance, contractual adherence, and ongoing alignment.
  • Lead vendor governance discussions and performance reviews.

Strategy & Delivery:

  • Partner to develop and deliver a cohesive benefits communications approach.
  • Lead annual enrollment communications across a decentralized environment.
  • Use engagement and utilization insights to refine communication strategies.
  • Prepare concise updates and presentations for senior leadership and business partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, HR, or a related field.
  • Benefits‑related certification a plus (e.g., CEBS, SHRM, PHR).
  • 6+ years of experience in benefits administration.
  • Experience working with outsourced vendors or third‑party administrators preferred.
  • Strong background in vendor management and cross‑functional collaboration.
